SPRINGFIELD - Harry J. Barkman, age 66, of Springfield, IL, passed away at 5:59 p.m., Monday, April 27, 2009, at his residence. The graveside service in his honor will begin at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Dodge Grove Cemetery with Reverend Brian Daily officiating. There will be no visitation. Mitchell- Jerdan Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements. Mr. Barkman was born March 17, 1943, in Springfield, IL, the son of James M. and Lolita G. (Hamilton) Barkman. He is survived by two cousins, Everett L. Daily and wife Grace of Humboldt, IL , and Doris E. Hance of Mattoon, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Barkman was a member of Central Baptist Church in Springfield, IL, and served with the Illinois National Guard
