AMES A. WILLHOIT MONT PELIER, OH James A Willhoit, age 72, of Mont Pelier, OH, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2016. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Willhoit; children: Amy (Jeff) Tarka, Todd (Jen) Willhoit, Adrian (Mary) Cole, and Whitney (Rob) Cole; grandchildren: Sutton, Madden, Mina Irene, Eli, Alaina, Owen, and Rayn; brother Rick Willhoit; sister Peggy Smith; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Virginia Willhoit and his loving wife of 34 years, Karen. Funeral services will be held at the Fagen-Miller FuneralHOMEhttp://cdncache-a.akamaihd.net/items/it/img/arrow-10x10.png, 2828 Highway Ave, in Highland on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Shawn Cornett officiating. Burial Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Mr. Willhoit served a lifetime of ministry pastoring several Church of Christ churches in the Tri-State Area after graduating from Lincoln ChristianCOLLEGEhttp://cdncache-a.akamaihd.net/items/it/img/arrow-10x10.png. He owned Dri-Fire, which was his gunsmith shop and competed in pistol target shooting competitions. He was also a member of the BMW Motorcycle Club. He was currently serving as the Michigan State Police Chaplain and formerly served as the Highland Police Chaplain.
