Martha Ann 'Annie' Sutherland Young passed away peacefully early on Monday, October 5, 2020 in Olathe, Kansas. Annie was born on March 1, 1942 in Springfield, Illinois to Doug and Martha Sutherland.

Annie graduated high school in 1961 from Springfield High School. She ultimately settled in Olathe, Kansas while working in the healthcare industry. She was a loving mother and friend as well as a devoted Catholic. She was an avid Chiefs fan, had a strong work ethic and lived life to the fullest enjoying God’s simple pleasures. Annie loved her family to the fullest, providing love and lessons, strength and patience, advice and honesty. Her smile exuded kindness and her gentleness brought peace to all the hearts she touched. Annie was a resident at the Healthcare Resort of Olathe since 2015.

Annie is survived by her children Brian Velten (Judy), Robert Burkhart Young Jr., Brent Young, Valerie Bentley (Brian), seven grandchildren, Michael Velten (Caity), Bradley Velten (Caity), Alek Ginther, Rian Young, Reace Young, Ella Bentley, Matthew Bentley and two greatgrandchildren Colin Velten and Bryson Allyn Edward Young. Annie was preceded in death by her parents Doug and Martha Sutherland and brother Doug who passed away from polio at the age of 16.

An intimate celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 18. Annie was loved by many and will be forever in our hearts.
