David M. Ryan

1943 - 2021

David M. Ryan, age 78 of Beavercreek, OH passed away peacefully on Monday, September 13, 2021 at Bethany Village. He was born in Springfield, Illinois on July 15, 1943, the only child of Walter and Mildred (Brown) Ryan.

David grew up in Springfield and graduated from Springfield High School. Then he attended Springfield Junior College, the University of Illinois, and graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry. David worked for the Eureka Company in Bloomington, Illinois for 21 years, until 1988, when he moved with his family to Beavercreek, OH. He worked at WPAFB Area B until retiring in 2013. During this time he also earned a Master's Degree from Wright State University and PhD from Miami of Ohio. David was also an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Dayton, OH. As an avid bird watcher and collector, he enjoyed traveling and creating picture albums of all his trips. David's sharp intellect and caring personality will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

David is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janet; three children, Kathy Betts, Emily (Jared) Kimmins and David (Greta) Ryan; eight grandchildren, Robert, Alan, Morgan, Alexis, Samantha, Cody, Felix, and Wendy. He is preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in David's name can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Private Family Services will be held at a later date in Springfield, Illinois at Oak Ridge Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
