Jim Patkus VIEW PROFILE

LANTANA - James M. Patkus, 67, of Lantana, FL, formerly of Springfield, passed aways on December 16,2010 at JFK hospital in Atlantis, FL.  Jim was born February 16, 1943 in Springfield, the son of Ralph and Leora Patkus.  He is preceded in death by his father, Ralph Patkus.  He is survived by his wife Joan of 24 years; his mother Leora 'Snip' Patkus; three children, Ami (Ray) Merchant, Jarni (Dan) Winchester, Michelle (Scott) King all of Springfield, three step children, Susan (Jeff) Reese, Daniel and William Grove; two brothers, Pat (Sue) Patkus of Springfield, Mike (Kate) Patkus of Benton, AR and Sandy (Ron) Hochreiter of Farley, MO; twelve grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He also was a father figure to Thomas B. Hacker of Savanna, GA, and Jon Rice of Springfield, IL.

 

Jim graduated from Springfield High School in 1961.  He served in the U.S. Army.  He was a Union carpenter and contractor for Carpenters Local Union 16.  He was an active member of the Moose Lodge in Lake Worth, FL.  His passion was his family, fishing, sports and his Chicago Cubs.  He will always be known for his laughter and love for his family.  He was a member of Pasfield Baptist Church.  Cremation's will be done in Palm Beach and services at Camp Butler at a later date.
