

Jacob Bunn IV of Springfield, Illinois, and Harbor Springs, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024, in Springfield, with his wife, Lorrie, by his side.
Jacob was born on January 12, 1943, in Chicago, the son of Jacob Bunn III and Elizabeth Smith Bunn. They receded him in death, along with his sister, Carolyne.
He is survived by Lorrie, his wife of 41 years; two sons, Tad and Matthew; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jacob was raised in Springfield and graduated from Springfield High School. He graduated from Bradley University with a Master of Arts degree and was a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity. He worked for Bunn Corporation, retiring as Vice President of Sales.
He was a long-serving Trustee of the Henry Bunn Scholarship Fund, and he served on the boards of Banc One Springfield and Memorial Medical Center Foundation.
Jacob was also a longtime supporter of Bradley University, where he funded a photography workshop that brought renowned photographers from all over the United States to the school’s campus. He supported numerous charities, including McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital and Little Traverse Conservancy. He had a generous heart and quietly helped countless people.
Jacob was a member of Little Harbor Club, and a former member of the Sangamo Club, the Chicago Club, and Silver Creek Club.
A private memorial service is planned and burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
