SPRINGFIELD - Robert E. Allen, 68, of Springfield, passed away at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 11, 2011 in Auburn.
Robert was born May 7, 1943 in Springfield, the son of Robert E. and Louise Wanless Allen. He was married to Jeannette Allen from 1966-1985.
Robert received a bachelor's degree in marketing from Colorado University. He worked as a sales representative in the food and janitorial industry. Robert was a member of Toast Masters, Topeka Kansas Boy Scout Council and was a former Eagle Scout. He was an avid runner and enjoyed fishing, playing tennis and had his pilot's license.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by three sons, Mike (wife, Berrie) Allen of Manitowoc, WI, Jim (wife, Jean) Allen of Rochester and Steve (wife, Andrea) Allen of Geneseo; seven grandchildren, Megan, Bailey, Kelly, David, Thomas, Anna and Grace; his mother, Louise Allen of Springfield; one aunt, one uncle, and many cousins.
Memorial Gathering: 7:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Church of St. Jude, 633 S. Walnut St., Rochester.
Memorial Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 15, 2011 at Church of St. Jude.
