
James J. 'Jim' Hay, 60, of Springfield died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at his home after a battle with cancer. After graduation, he attended Lincoln Land Community College. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and received the Vietnam Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He retired as a police offer with the Springfield Police Department after 24 years and was a groundskeeper for Illini Country Club. Survivors: wife, Nancy; two sons, Tim J. and Thomas J. (wife, Corrie) Hay, both of Springfield; daughter Terri (husband, Chad) Jacobs of Chatham; four grandchildren; three sisters, Jackie Kolaz and Jennifer (husband, Mike) McKinney, both of Springfield, and Judie (husband, Loren) Curtis of New Berlin; and several nieces and nephews.
