
'Dutch' Robert De Croix of Springfield died at 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at St. John's Hospital. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam War era. He was employed for many years at the U.S. post office in Springfield, retiring in 2005. Dutch was a member of AMVETS, Disabled American Veterans and the National Rifle Association. In this spare time, he enjoyed buck skinning and rode broncos in the rodeo. Robert was a catcher in the Springfield Little League and went to the Little League World Series. He is survived by a son, Rob W. (wife, Rebecca) De Croix of Springfield; a daughter, Kathryn De Croix of Orlando, FLA.; mother, Erlin Eileen De Croix of Springfield; two grandchildren, Alexander James De Croix and Michael Dustin Roberts; and a brother, William E. (wife, Sue) De Croix of Sun City, Ariz.
