Carol A. Conant (Pitts)

Decatur -- Carol Ann Conant Pritts, 58, of Decatur, formerly of Springfield, died Wednesday, June 12, 2002 of lung and breast cancer.

She was born September 28, 1943, in El Paso, Texas, the daughter of Roy Fisher and Erma Lanterman Conant.  She married David L. Pritts in 1968 in Springfield.

Mrs. Pritts, a nurse, was a graduate of Methodist Hospital in Peoria and the University of St. Francis in Joliet.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Decatur and was active as a Stephen minister.  She served as president of PEO Chapter BC, chairman of PASS, president of the Eisenhower High School PTA and chairman of the Ways and Means Committee of the Decatur Symphony Guild.  She also was a member of the Gargoyles, Junior Welfare Association (Patroness) and the Country Club of Decatur.

Survivors:  husband, David; a son, Timothy (wife, Sarah) Pritts of Cincinnati; a daughter, Julie (husband, Michael) Floyd of Springfield; and a brother, Richard Conant of Springfield.

Services:  11 a.m. Tuesday, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Rev. Wray A. Offermann officiating.  Burial:  Mount Gilead Cemetery in Decatur.

Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur is in charge of arrangements.
