Obituary

Richard A. Robertson, 78, of Washington, IL, lovingly referred to as “PaPa”, went to his final resting place Friday afternoon, September 3, 2021.

He was born in Springfield, IL, on August 7, 1943, to the late Harold E and Esther Mae Collard Robertson. Surviving are his wife, Karen, of Washington, IL,  children Brian (and Laura) Robertson, East Peoria, IL; Brad Robertson, Parrish, FL; Chris (and Clay) Campbell, Washington, IL; Cathy (and Tom) Huntsman, Washington, IL; and Beth (and Dan) Funcannon of Washington, IL. Most importantly, he leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Jessica, Kyla, Collin, Maddi, Lexi, Kenna, Paige, and Zane, around whom his life revolved. Also, surviving are one brother Timm (and Suzi) Robertson of Wayne, NJ,

Richard graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Illinois College in Jacksonville. He spent 30 years with and retired from Sears Robuck and Co. After retirement, he continued to work and was employed with LR Nelson, Bob Lindsay Honda, the Dawdy Haus (furniture store he and his wife owned), and as a custodian at his home church. When he was not working, he played golf (both in college and for fun), watched NASCAR, followed his grandchildren's sports and hobbies, and traveled. His other hobbies also included art, photography, and fishing. To say the least, he was an active, hard-working man who loved God and family.

Richard was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church in Washington, where he served on several committees and volunteered where needed.

Cremation rites have been accorded. On Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 11:00 am at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington, Pastor Charles McDonald will officiate a memorial service. Visitation will be one hour before his service also at the funeral home.
